Tracking

The Tracking page is where you can view your items on the map. You can see the last known location of your vehicle along with speed, ignition status, etc. You can also locate (ping) an item, create a geofence, or view alerts.

 

  1. Vehicle Icon: icon that represents the vehicle on the map.
  2. Mini Map: map that shows a larger view of the surrounding area.
  3. Toggle Visibility: toggle the visibility of an item on the map.
  4. Item Name: the name of the vehicle, asset, or individual.
  5. Last Reported: the amount of time since the item last reported it’s location.
  6. Info: click on this button to display more info about the item and its activity.
  7. Status: indicates if the item is stopped or moving.
  8. Alerts: click on this button to view the current alerts for this item.
  9. Message: click on this button to send a message to the GPS device.
  10. Ping: click on this button to locate the current position of the item.
  11. Show Landmarks: displays all of the landmarks on the map.
  12. Show Geofences: displays all of the geofences on the map.
  13. Lock Map: keep the map from recentering every time an item changes location.
  14. Ruler: measures distances and area on the map.
  15. Set Map: set map to the current view.
  16. Map Refresh: time in minutes until the map refreshes.
  17. Zoom Slider: zoom in/out on the map.
  18. Pan: move map north, south, east, or west.
  19. Google Street View: activate Google Street View.
  20. Full Map: click arrow to expand map to entire screen.

How to Create a New Vehicle Item within the Platform

  1. Log in as SiteAdmin
  2. Select Manage Client
  3. Select the client that the new item needs to be created within
  4. From the Dashboard, edit the Group that the item needs to be added.
  5. select the “Vehicles” Tab
  6. Click on “Add Vehicle” option
  7. Add Name, VIN, Color, Make, Model, etc
  8. Save
  9. Select “Configure Tracking” Tab from the top
  10. Select the proper Hardware Profile for the hardware
  11. Enter the IMEI/Serial of the item
  12. Save
This process will work the same for creating new Assets or Individuals.

The Unauthorized Use Alert will need to be configured properly before it will work properly.  The Unauthorized Use Alert does not use the same configuration as the After Hours Report. The After Hours Report will use the Group’s Hours of Operation settings. The Unauthorized Use Alert should show the 2 Date/Time configuration areas. Authorized Days and Scheduled Days.

Configure Alert Trigger

  1. Login to the Client as the Client Administrator user or any user will access to the Tools and Setting and Alert Trigger.
  2. Select the Dashboard tab
  3. Select the Tools and Settings
  4. Under the Client Tools section, select Configure Alert Triggers
  5. Select the Pencil to open the Unauthorized Use Trigger Editor
  6. Verify that both Show Frequency and Show Value are selected
  7. The Show Value selection needs to be set to ‘Date Range’
  8. Save the Trigger Editor

 

Configure the Unauthorized Use Alert for the Group

  1. From the Dashboard, Select the Group to configure the alert
  2. Select Setup Alerts
  3. Select the Unauthorized Use Trigger from the list at the left
  4. Configure the Authorized Days
    • The Authorized Days will be the time that the device is expected to report. When a device reports outside of this time with ignition on or speed greater than 5 MPH this alert will be triggered.
  5. Configure the Scheduled Days
    • The Scheduled Days are the time that the alert is available to be generated. This should be configured for 24 hours a day to make sure that the alert is triggered if the device does move outside of the configured Authorized days.
  6. Configure the other alert settings and select Save Alert

 

Note: You will not see any of these Unauthorized Use Alert show on the After Hours Report since the After Hours Report used the Group Hours of Service. If you customer needs to generate a report to show the After Hours instances, they can run the Alert Report filtered to only display the Unauthorized Use Alert instances.

To allow end users to download and use the Mobile Tracking Application for Android and BlackBerry, you will need to send a license to each user to enable the application to being tracking it’s location.

To Install the Application:
  1. Please open up the e-mail from support on the mobile device to install the application
  2. Click on the link within the e-mail to open in your Browser
  3. Select the ‘Download’ link. The application will now begin to download
  4. Once the Application has finished downloading, open the application
  5. Within the Application, please enter your License Number. This number is listed on the e-mail that was sent
  6. Once you input the license, the device will be registered. You can now access and update Settings within the application
  7. Once the application has been installed, you will be able to assign the Device to a Client Group on your Platform

2- Enter the IMEI, Device Name, Group Name or just search for all

3- Select if you would like to filter Client and or last activity

4- Once the report has ran you can export it to Excell

5- Green Status Units are Active Grey Status Units are Inactive and Red Status Units are Delete

This article will explain the process to add Events to a Hardware Profile.  This process will require that the Hardware Profile is configured with at least one Column to map the Event.

By Adding Event Codes to a Hardware Profile this will allow to view when exceptions occur with the device and you will be able to create Custom Alert Triggers within each Client.

How to add an Event to a Hardware Profile

  1. Login to the Site Tools with the Siteadmin user
  2. Select Manage Client Hardware
  3.  Select the Lightning Bolt icon next to the Hardware Profile name
  4. Enter the Event Code that is configured in the Device Script
  5. Enter the Caption to be passed into the Client platform and display within the Events Tab of the Tracking page in the Informational Popup
  6. Select the Column Name from the drop down
  7. Save the Event
  8. Repeat steps 4 through 7 as required

Driver

A Driver can be assigned to a vehicle to help better manage your fleet. By assigning a Driver to a vehicle, you get a more accurate picture of a driver’s behavior. You can also maintain important information about a Driver, such as driver license, insurance expiration dates and contact information. Drivers are very useful when a vehicle can be driven by more than one driver. By assigning a Driver you can pinpoint which driver was responsible for a particular event. You can also add a photo to the Driver

 

License/Insurance

This tab contains driver’s license and insurance information. You can maintain data such as license restrictions and expiration dates.

Contact Information

This tab contains contact information for the driver. You can maintain phone numbers, email addresses and emergency contact info.

Vehicle History

This tab contains information about when a driver was assigned to a vehicle.

In this lesson you will learn how to set a Client Platform up as a Template.  This will enable you to copy the layout and permissions of this Client while creating a New Client.

Please follow these instructions:

  1. Login as Site Admin
  2. Once logged in, Select ‘Manage Clients’
  3. Edit the Client you wish to set up as a Template, by selecting the Pencil Icon
  4. Click the configuration tab and Select the Box “Use Client as Template”
  5. Save

Once you have completed this, you will see this client listed as an Available Template to Copy while creating a new Client

This article will describe the logic used for how non-client administrator users can create, view and assign users.

Logic for Rules that determines your permission to change/view other user (Existing Implementation)
  1. User is only in my set of dbo.group(s)
    • Full User View, edit and delete functionality
  2. User is in my set of dbo.group(s), but also in other dbo.group(s)
    • Limits to View and edit functions, no delete ability
  3. User does not belong to any of my assigned dbo.group(s)
    • I cannot view
Logic for the Assignment Rules for Groups
  1. New users that have not been assigned to any dbo.group or security.group will be viewable and editable
  2. You can only assign the dbo.group that you belong to other user that you can edit.
    • You cannot remove dbo.group from other user
  3. You can only assign the security.group you are a member to the other user that you can edit
    • You cannot remove security.group from other user

  • dbo.group – the Groups within the Dashboard that entities are assigned
  • security.group – Security Groups within the Create Users and Manage Permissions page
